Creative Head Start Teachers

Two of our Head Start teachers, Barbara Edwards and Angela Goodson, have gone all out for the end of the year celebration for their students. Ms. Edwards, a native of New Orleans, came to Florida after the very destructive Hurricane Katrina and has brought her love of scrapbooking  to Polk County. She has always created scrapbooks for her students and she was only able to find two after the storm. She said, “My children have always enjoyed putting the scrapbooks together and picking out what pictures and works of art to place in them.”

Mrs. Angela Goodson, joined the Head Start family this past January and fits in very well with Ms. Edwards, because she is also an avid scrapbooker . These two ladies joined forces and continued the tradition of creating these “Works of Art” for each and every student that they have taught this year. Ms. Edwards adds that, “Miss Angie is an inspiration and her creative ideas are endless.”

Not only do these two ladies create these wonderful keepsake scrapbooks  for each parent, but they also present the parents with an alphabet book that features their child on each page of the alphabet book. You may wonder why these teachers put so much time, effort, and money into these projects; they simply do it for the joy that it brings to them and the connection between themselves, the students, and the parents. Simply put, “They LOVE their job!”
